1.par pereiopoder med mikroskopiske små sakser. Rostrum er minst like langt som carapax og 3 par maxillipeder er uten exopodit. Rostrum er tydelig oppadbøyd og leddet innenfor saksen på høyre 2.pereiopod delt i ca 5 ringer
Key characters: 2 upper lateral thorns and 1 lower thorn on carapax, 1st pair pereiopods with claw (crangonidae), endopodite almost as long as exopodite on last 4 pairs of pleopods. «Muddy» colour.
Habitat: soft bottom down to 1200 m outside the coast of Norway.
Lifestyle: opportunist
Key characters: scissor on 1 pair of pereiopods, 1. pair thicker than 2. pair, eye not covered by carapace, 2. pair pereiopods: limb adjacent to claw with 7-8 rings, 1 thorn above eye.
Habitat: soft and hard bottom, down to 700m

I've seen an influx of these over the last week in March/first week in April around Nanaimo. I'm super curious what they are. Some kind of egg? Jelly? They're about the size of a dime.
