Growing on a mossy bank in native beech forest. Caps to 45 mm across, creamy but covered with brownish squamules, fruit body quite soft and spongy feeling. Pore surface yellowish, with darker ridges running down onto the upper stem, pores quite large. Stem pale pinky-brown.
