Found on gum tree. ( roadside reserve) Obviously looking for a catch. Moved quiet quickly up the tree trunk.

Hylaeus like male wasps with thick yellow antenna base
Identified as Crabronidae on Bowerbird by Bernhard Jacobi: "my feeling is this belongs to subfamily Crabroniae and tribe Gorytini. Could be an Argogorytes sp. (4 spp. in E + SE Australia) but this is a mere guess. Waspdom evident by a look at the narrow hind basitarsi! ;-)"
