Found loose on leaf litter in a park along the trail of confer trees with native shrubbery and maple mulch. Was actively raining all day with over cast weather
Growing on the side of the stump of an old oak tree among moss and cladonia lichen. Oak stump is on the side of a path opposite a lake.
This fungal species was found on October 12th in the conifer forest of Big Mosquito Lake. The cap was very thick with a thick and tough stipe. The cap was smooth with pores underneath that looked sponge-like, while the stipe looked a but net-like.

Location found: On the nature walk with Michael Beug. It was in Klickitat, Washington.
Weather: Hot and sunny day, but the trees provided decent cool shade.
Habitat: I found this small, but sneakily hidden King Bolete growing alone in a shady area in the forest near the beginning our our walk. Grew solitarily, but was quite healthy.
Found on tree growing within lava fields on cottonwood meadow, ends have circular balls that open and protrude with a black inner coating. Weather was roughly 70-75 and dry

Key features- Disc shaped, dark brown with a paler margin and concentric bands, irregular pores

Location found: Skamania County, WA, at the lava field.
Weather: Brisk winds and sunny day. Started off cold but gradually warmed up as the day went on.
Habitat: I found this lichen growing on an old piece of rock. The red apothecia were few and I extracted a section where the two largest apothecia were. The lichen is still very brittle to touch and is difficult to transport without breaking.
