Animals were collected by magnesium chloride anesthetization and decanting through a 100 micron cell strainer.
Macrostomum were more abundant in the more protected regions of the beach in medium to coarse sand along the ridge where the sandy shore became a mud flat at low tide.
Salinity was 25 ppt and animals were found with diatoms in their gut. They are currently being kept in filtered bay water and fed N. curvilineata. Animals often lay more than one egg at a time.
