The sea gull is a bird that is local to the Bay Area we see them everywhere, sometime more often than the pigeon. I enjoyed watching the gulls fly around the field of the cemetery, typically I see them on the ground searching for food. But on this particular day they were flying around enjoying the sun.

This cormorant didn’t seem bothered about being so close to people on the sidewalk.
A male Williamson's Sapsucker foraging in a Grey Pine.
It's red throat is faintly visible in some photos, never got a good look at it because, even though it was about 40-60 feet up in the tree, stayed mostly on the opposite side of the tree in the denser parts of the it.
It has a white bar on each wing but is not visible in the photos because of the fluffed under feathers.
other field marks include:
Yellow belly,
solid black back,
white rump.
The bird did not vocalize at all, typical of a wintering sapsucker.
There was also a Red-breasted Sapsucker in the pine next to the tree this bird was in.
Photos were taken with a relatively cheap 75-300 mm Canon lens, so unfortunately the photos aren't too great quality.
