First time seeing this. Love it so much!
Protected Preserve
Brown and smooth leaf margin.
Growing quite near the Yucca filamentosa in the adjacent observation, but out of reach of the mowing. Apologies for not taking a picture of two flowering stems that were fallen down, but likely bloomed last fall. I see a good number of this species in this county, often a pair of them marking a track into what was once must have been a homestead. It can be hard to tell if plants are wild or not, but I believe this one is.
Powerline right-of-way, grassy and brambly , roadside
My favorite roadside find so far this year - a genus not previously known in this county. Specifically, on a descending bank, just above the lowest, wettest part.
Probably Ruby Meadowhawk. Teneral female.
