In jack pine forest. There were quite a few but hard to photograph because they would not sit down much.
19’c part sun part cloud. Transect - Peterson Bridge. Mud puddling.. with it crawling on the ground made for awkward angles but I’m going with Juba because of the combo of contrasting underwing spots and charcoal-like swipe on topside but I’m really no certain. I tried to sneak in a transect walk at lunch but except for this one was unable to document the butterflies mud puddling and basking under the bridge before the next storm cloud rolled in.. there was a second of this orange-toned skipper, a possible roadside skipper, and two blues.. the skippers all disappeared immediately on the clouding over, and the blues took flight and circled around for 30 seconds or so before also disappearing
19’c part sun part cloud. Transect - Peterson Bridge. Storm cloud blew in before I could get a decent pic but a roadside skip is pretty distinctive so hoping these are good enough to confirm id
19’c overcast. Nectaring. This is the purplest purplish copper I’ve ever seen!
