Resting like a bump on a log. Estero Llano Grande SP, Hidalgo County, Texas.
The last big flooding rain washed down a big piece of tree, and it has lodged underneath the pedestrian bridge, on the west bank of Olmos creek. Usually partly submerged, it is now a turtle emerging spot. Taxon suggests slider, but I see no red ear spot, so I suggest this is an older turtle, "melanistic" is a term an identifier used, meaning darker skinned. I welcome comments from identifiers on this observation.

Cold Weather Sun Bathing
The sun was out on a chilly morning & she was taking advantage of that. The concrete would be the warmest place to soak up some rays. She was right below me as I looked over the fence.
