Having a nice little nap right by the sidewalk.
LUNCH HAS BEEN SERVED.
The recently filled feeder has attracted a wide variety of diners; including the California Towhee on the right, and the House Finch on the left.
This seal was on Hermosa Beach just south of the pier. Is it indeed a young elephant seal. I’ve only seen one once in Southern California. At that time, I thought the seal was in distress or injured to be staying up in the shore so long. However, the lifeguard then said sometimes they come onto the beach for awhile & then go back out after resting. I’m hoping that is the case with this seal.
