Atypical shape
earthworm castings
Tracks 3/4" across, between a large rat and a mink in size.
Larger than common grackle foot. This is by far the most common bird on the island.
Opened acorn. Feeding sign showing "chatter" on edges.
Looking for ID on the animal tracks. I assume raccoon? Should've put something for scale but the palms (not including toes) were larger than a quarter, smaller than bottom of a standard coke/soda can. Photos taken in low light at dusk w/ flashlight. Photos are of a couple different sets of paw prints that seemed to be same animal and were within feet of each other going in same direction. Lots of bird & human prints of various sizes in the muck as well. The depth of these prints would seem to make sense w/ small raccoon or small dog, but the muck had varying consistency and prints (including my own!) varied in depth because of this. Water in this storm water pond would often cover this area with 6 or so inches half the year but has been drying up lately. No clue how old the prints are. Didn't see dog poop/dog prints nearby but people do walk their dogs on sidewalk on upper bank so unfortunately it's possible these are just small dog prints
