Field Notes - We found this mature version of a Spiny leaf stick insect on an old peach tree, I wonder if it's the mature version of the young one I photographed a while back? I wondered if it was female as it has the spines on it!
Field Notes - A stick insect. Approximately 23 to 24 centimeters.

This is the Darwin stick insect, Eurycnema osiris. [Confirmed by expert in stick insects]. It was very large - at least a handspan in length. We found it on Ubirr Rock in Kakadu National Park.
