Photo is of one of two Carolina Saddlebags cruising a pond with 3 Black Saddlebags, at the Rittman preserve. I had a couple close encounters and missed shots, with the Carolina Saddlebags and their saddle was clearly a Carolina.
However; this is unfortunately my only fairly legible flight photo. The photo shows the black rings at the tapering abdomen end.
Rain has prevented return trips; otherwise I would be there trying for better photos.
Dragonflies are a challenge due to the very large ponds, and reduced areas to stand along the banks.
Many move on to other areas, and those that stay are difficult to find perched due to the large areas.
