The little red sprouts between the Remuremu are probably Oxybasis ambigua shoots, since there's lots in the area.
I am not prepared to swear this is Remuremu, no flowers showing, and the leaves don't look sort of succulent like I associate with a healthy Remuremu. This is the only low-profile plant growing in a swale of tall grasses, reeds, rushes, etc. and there was only this one small patch of these too, well under 1m^2 in size. Good luck finding it again.
Sometimes it gets challenging to tell the two species of Selliera apart.
Many substantial patches of remuremu throughout the saltmarsh region. No flowers yet. I'll come back later for that.
Near the eastern end of the estuarine vegetation. Clumps of Juncus australis growing in it.
Not the thick carpets of remuremu that grow in the saltmarsh portion of the Manawatu estuary, but still, something. At this stage in life it is harder to tell Selliera radicans apart from Selliera rotundifolia.
