Trying to figure out what this is.
Will upload better camera pictures later
Tiny juvenile, 4 buttons on rattle
Seen periscoping on the road even from the car
Last 2 pictures show how windy it really was, probably over 20 mph gusts
Found right next to the pond while I was washing ribbon snake musk off my hands in the water
Tiny juvenile sleeping in the willow by the pond during heavy winds

First picture in situ, had unusual spinal deformities likely from a predator interaction
First ever long nose. Found road cruising (with proper permits). This was the only live snake we found road cruising that night but it was definitely worth it. It can't be understated how beautiful the orange and banding is on these snakes.
Saw an orange line slowly moving from east to west from afar, had to rapidly speed up the car and that’s when the snake began speeding up as well, I sprinted out of the car and intercepted the snake just before it escaped into the scrub
Flipped at the bottom of a stack of tin in partial shade, day after a thunderstorm so probably why this coral snake was active under cover
