Date: 4/6/2019 Time: 12:21 Location: Arcata Marsh

This is mine and Ashley’s last day of doing field work for the WAB project, we start the day off same as usual and drive to the Arcata marsh. It is around 12:20 and it is a nice 52 degrees and the tide is high. Once there we walked to our willow tree and started taking pictures of the tree that we needed. Once that was done we started recording the data of the pollen release, leaf and flower buds breaking/forming. At this point in time our tree was blooming with bright green leaves. After we finished recording the data we got back into the car to go monitor/look for Avocets.

Once at Jacoby Creek where Avocets are supposed to be seen we sat for 15 minutes looking to see if we saw any Avocets. Today was not the day to see them because there wasn’t one in sight. On the walk back to the car we looked around to see if we could take any pictures for INaturalist. I got a few pictures one of them being some moss, I also ran into a snake that I was unable to take a picture of. This concludes our field work in the marsh for the WAB Sci 100 project.
