I know it’s been a few months since this sighting, but only recently did it gain any attention. My first Chickadee observation could possibly be a hybrid of a Carolina Chickadee and a Black-capped Chickadee. At first I, along with another user, thought it was just a Carolina Chickadee. However, 2 months later, mdhafner found that it had Black-capped Chickadee characteristics. Could this be a hybrid? It would be a first for Green Ridge State Forest, and would indicate the hybrid zone has moved. However, I know nothing, so I am going to leave it to the experts. What do you all think?

This is your biweekly tick alert!(Not really) While in PRR today I took a traipse through a 20ft wide brush to photograph some birds. About 30 minutes later, I found 2 ticks making their way up my body, one 15 minutes earlier than the other. This year had a very mild winter, so ticks are extra strong this spring! Make sure when traipsing around a brush to have bug spray applied!(But ticks are arachnids…) alright, Have TICK spray applied(that’s better) so that ticks do not crawl up your body and bite you. It’s better to find ticks sooner than later; they will only start transmitting diseases to you after 24 hours of bites. Check often, and be careful out there.

I finally got a camera upgrade! Expect some better photos from me now!

Just spotted a tick biting my leg this morning. If you are going into grassy areas, check for ticks regularly.
