I'm old, born 1938, have always been somewhat interested in "Nature", but had too many interests to "settle down" and concentrate on a few. Retirement, and more time to indulge myself, starting with travel, Taiwan, Vietnam, Cambodia, 2014, Costa Rica 2016-17-18, China 2018,Taiwan and Vietnam again in 2019, and sadly, nothing since COVID .

I discovered Butterflies while in Vietnam, (2014), returned to Canada, an enthusiastic butterfly photographer, and then discovered moths flying about our patio lights in 2016. I was given a UV moth trap in 2023, and have started using pheromone traps in 2024. Have photographed / recorded 792 (Currently) moth species in the immediate Merritt, BC, area, and expect to reach 800 species by end of 2024.
