Hi there! I am a Marine Biologist and deep-sea explorer. As a research scientist, my interests include studying the spatial distribution of animals living in the deep sea, on seamounts, at hydrothermal vents, and in and around complex habitats created by cold-water corals and sponges. Far offshore, from aboard large oceanographic vessels, I use submersible vehicles to collect videos and photos of deep-sea animals, to photo-document their distributions over time and space.
I currently work at the Institute of Ocean Sciences, for Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO). I've also had the fortune to work for or collaborated with: the Pennsylvania State University, Schmidt Ocean Institute, Harvard University, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, Rhode Island University, the University of Victoria, the Canadian Healthy Oceans Network (CHONe), VENUS, ArcticNet, Archipelago Marine Research, ...
