For the past decade I have taught elementary school children about California native plants, as well as how to grow their own food organically. Our school garden is a half acre which is now home to over 100 species of native plants.
As a child I grew up tagging along with naturalists, like my mom, who were starting up a learning museum and animal hospital called the Lindsay Wildlife Museum. In the early 1960s caring for wildlife was a new concept in the suburbs, and I am proud to have been a part of that movement.
I currently live adjacent to a large wilderness preserve with no other houses in site, which is a rather rare entity in the SF Bay Area. I spend a great deal of time exploring the hills around me.
