I live on Kodiak Island, home to coastal brown bears, an amazing assortment of birds, marine mammals and one of my favorite creatures -- bumblebees. I am a professional photographer, organic gardener and columnist. For 30+ years I've taught organic gardening classes and photography workshops. I love being outside on the trails and on the ocean, observing nature in all her moods. Oh, and I love to photograph snowflakes!
