I'm a biologist and professor at Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, in Recife, north-eastern Brazil. Most of my research today is related to the ecology, communication and taxonomy of amphibians and reptiles.

I've been a naturalist since I was five. That's when I made my first entomological box, under my father's careful supervision. Twenty-six years later, my enthusiasm for nature hasn't changed a bit.

I hope this project brings like-minded people together, while providing useful information for science and for the general public.
