Years ago I took a 3-week field biology class at Fallen Leaf Lake for three summers in a row. I knew a lot about a tiny part of the Sierra Nevada and then I got married, went to nursing school, had kids, life happened. When I retired I took up birding again and in the Fall of 2019 completed the University of California course (at Effie Yeaw Nature Center) to become a Certified California Naturalist.
