We have a lot of jumping spiders and some orb spiders that get rather large. I'll collect them with this post so they are all together.
...Well, except for the crab spiders. They will get their own post.
Grey spider, perfectly matched coloration to concrete block wall where it was resting. Small, around 1/4" across. Pair of large eyes in front, with smaller eyes surrounding it. Covered in hairs.
This spider had many tangles of spider web on the tops of the coreopsis flowers. Coreopsis verticillata / Threadleaf coreopsis, cultivated, not sure exact cultivar.
Black spider with grey up on top (dorsal). It was perched at the top of the boulder. Looking for sun or insects to fly by?
These spiders look a bit like an egg from the back. The front and legs are black, the abdomen has black front and center, with the rest a pale grey.
Look out below. No way to tell what type of jumping spider.
Spider, shrub steppe.
