Questions about the state of the manuka-canopied area

A survey further downhill through the manuka canopy raises questions about the past ond ongoing effects of dense Watsonia, numerous small pampas, and larger light breaks in the canopy.

Our uninformed observation suggests the need for control of Watsonia and continued monitoring and weed control throughout the site.

Or will native canopy be maintained, and restored where broken, without intervention?

Any experience or surmise would be very much appreciated.
