Kayak to the Arboretum - May 10 and May 12 from 9:30a to 1:30p
Meet at Bladensburg Waterfront Park at 9:30a to pick up kayaks and paddle down to the National Arboretum (part of the USDA's park and research gardens). If you are game, we'll take trash bags with us to collect any floating debris. Enjoy conversation and company as we hike the Asian plant collection. Learn about The Peace Tree (from 1625) which survived 1945 Hiroshima, Japan. Hike as much or as little of the Arboretum as you have time while we are on shore (an Arboretum guide may join us). Rather than hike, if you prefer, bring a book and relax on the shore's edge. 1.5 - 2 hours of time in the kayaks. Total experience is 4 hours. Kayak rental and gear is $21-26 based on residency. Saturdays are normally better, but this Saturday we're celebrating my daughter's birthday. Maybe post a doodle poll for folks to fill out to find the best date?
Hmmm, not sure how to do a Doodle poll. I'm available most Saturdays, but if I knew a group was interested I could invite a guide.

Yikes, I just looked at the calendar and don't have a free Saturday morning until June 30! I'm also available July 7 & 14. Any of those dates work for anyone else?
