I am studying plant ecology at the University of Texas at Austin and plan to finish my PhD this year (2020)! I love plants, and am very happy to focus on them now after changing focus from a master's in mathematics and a prior career as an actuary.

My research projects are wide-ranging, and include:
* A revised key for Oxalis in Texas
* A sap flow study for Quercus fusiformis and Juniperus ashei
* A phenological study of Eschweilera in South America
* An ecosystem services valuation in far west Texas
* A study of different girdling methods for killing Ligustrum lucidum

During the summer of 2019, I worked with a small team in BC, Canada to document as many species as possible in the Provincial Parks and Protected Areas. If you're in the area, please check our our umbrella project and help us out with some IDs! https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/bc-parks
