Having retired from a research career, I wanted to continue my education by expanding my knowledge of biology, botany and evolution and link up with a community of naturalists interested in sharing their knowledge. I also wanted to stay up-to-date with technological advances that allow for data collection and analysis. Nature photography, especially birds, seemed a good place to start. I also volunteer with Raptor Inventory Nest Survey (RINS), an organization that monitors the productivity of historic raptor nests and makes the data available to various environmental, government and other commercial and public organizations seeking information to protect raptor habitat.
