Nite Hike and Wildflower walk for May

We have two new activities scheduled for Mockingbird Nature Park in May, back to back events.

Date: Fri May 15th, Time: 8pm

What: Aprox 1 mile hike on mowed trail e Indian Trail Master Naturalists will lead a fun and family-friendly hike into the nighttime world of the park. A trail which is familiar by day becomes a whole new experience at night. Come and learn about the sights, smells and sounds of nature at night. Closed-toe shoes, long pants, and bug spray are recommended. Bring a fashlight and a bottle of water. Plan to be outdoors at least two hours.
Mockingbird Nature Park is located at the corner of Mockingbird and Onward Roads in Midlothian. This free night hike is sponsored by the Midlothian Parks and Recreation Department and the Indian Trail Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalist Program.

Kid-Friendly Wildflower Walk 9 am Saturday May 16
Join the Indian Trail Master Naturalists as we walk and talk about wildflowers and butterflies. There will be a short activity for kids that focuses on the life cycle of butterflies followed by a 1/2 mile stroll on mowed trails. The fun begins at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, May 16 at Mockingbird Nature Park 1361 Onward Road (off Mockingbird Lane) Midlothian, Tx
The public is invited to attend this free walk. Participants should bring drinking water. The walk will be canceled in the event of rain.
