Wildflower Walk April 16, 2016 at 9:00 am
We'll begin our new season of WILDFLOWER WALKS at Mockingbird Nature Park on Saturday, April 16. We'll meet at the Butterfly Garden at 9 am. With all the rain we had last year we're looking forward to a good wildflower year! Hope you'll join us on this 1/2 mile stroll along the trail as we identify the wildflowers. We will also be taking a flora and fauna survey during the walk. Be sure to bring water and wear close-toed shoes. Insect repellent is also a good idea, especially in the spring when the chiggers are out and hungry! In the event of rain, the walk will be cancelled. The park has no facilities, so come prepared.
Our WILDFLOWER WALKS are scheduled for the third Saturday of each month, April through September.
Our walks are lead by members of the Indian Trail Chapter of the Master Naturalist program, from Ellis and Navarro counties. The public is invited to attend, and there is no charge. On most walks we will also be taking a Flora and Fauna Survey. Mockingbird Nature Park is located at 1361 Onward Road (off Mockingbird Lane) Midlothian, Tx
Please note there is NO Wildflower Walk scheduled for March due to poor trail conditions with the rain we've had.
