One week down, one week to go!

Hello BioBlitz participants! We’re half way through our two-week self-guided BioBlitz at Morton Outcrops SNA! We have 217 observations of 113 species, 39 identifiers, and 5 observers! This is wonderful, thank you for helping document the biodiversity of this site and keep up the great work!

A few fun finds so far are Prairie onion observed by @bwnfld, a Common Nighthawk chick observed by @kemerso21, and an Easter Tiger Swallowtail observed by @dianen5 . Thank you all!

We have one more week left to get out and explore this special place!

The results are in!

Great work everyone, and a huge thanks to all our participants in the Morton Outcrops SNA Self-guided Bioblitz! A total of 10 people participated in this self-guided Bioblitz by visiting the SNA, with 412 observations of 170 species. This is wonderful!

SNA staff will be helping review and identify observations over the next few weeks. Once observations have been identified to the highest level they can be, we’ll add the research grade observations to our plant species lists on our website. Thank you all for helping us accomplish this!

Congratulations to @kemerso21 for submitting the most observations! Nice work. Your prize will be on the way.

We'd like to thank all of you who participated in this Bioblitz by sending you an SNA sticker! If you'd like a sticker please email me directly at kari.wallin@state.mn.us and include your name and address, and I will send it to you.

@kemerso21 @kimcwren @bibaker @dianen5 @eknuth @jbentson @jplatt_b54 @bwnfld @danieljones2 @lalbin

Keep your eye out for a feature on your participation and observations on our SNA Facebook page tomorrow!

Learn more about our future self-guided Bioblitzes this season by checking our Events Calendar and subscribing to our Event Reminders Calendar on the top of the page. If you have questions or feedback, please contact Kari Wallin, SNA Outreach Specialist at kari.wallin@state.mn.us.
