Yes, sink the vars first. Not srue if iNate intellient enough to create type type var as carnosa instead of var crassifolia
You really should create an atlas for these two taxa, otherwise it will be a mess. They will both become subgenus Coronopus. And then all have to be identified again.
Yes I did atlas both before (there should a green box next to them).

@tonyrebelo If you remember, can you please verify that this split also includes Plantago crassifolia children? Unlike a normal swap, there is no box to check that includes children.
In South Africa it needs to:
Move species Plantago crassifolia observations to Plantago carnosa
Move variety Plantago crassifolia var. crassifolia to Plantago carnosa
Move variety Plantago crassifolia var. hirsuta to Plantago carnosa
We don't want to simply move species P. crassifolia observations to P. carnosa, but have both P. crassifolia varieties stay as they are. Must I do something with the varieties first?
e.g. sink both P. crassifolia varieties to either P. crassifolia varieties or P. carnosa beforehand...
